Every time I attempt blogging, I fail miserably. I'm terribly lazy, and fancy myself a writer without much literary cred (in all honesty). A still-in-progress novel, a few shorts, a vignette here and there, and handful of poetic blunders do not a credible writer make. So, I figure if I can get myself to write out the crap that goes on in my head, daily, I may still be legit when people ask what I do and I unwavering reply, "I write."

Cops: Man Shot To Death Inside Maitland Home - News Story - WFTV Orlando

a well-built, 6 ft tall man reported that he’d shot his house-guest and business partner, a petite man of gentle disposition, three days ago - over an altercation that the partner claimed had turned physical and that he had reacted to in self-defense. at the young man’s viewing before his funeral earlier this evening, family and friends noticed a large wound on his head. the funeral was overflowing with members of the community and with those whom the young man had befriended in his life journey of helping others. they all had a story to tell. but so did the ones who spoke for the shooter. in reporting the shooting, the media refused to release the victim’s identity and instead focused on the good character of the shooter (referred to as the “homeowner”) who the cops released despite his confession. the victim, survived by his 27-year-old wife and toddler son, was muslim, of pakistani origin. the shooter was not. you draw the conclusions.
